So let me first say that i searched and have tried 2 different methods of rooting.
First method i tried...
How To Root Your Droid 2 or Droid 2 Global - Personal-tech/smart-phones - Smart Phones - BYTE
which i downloaded the file right to my phone, opened it in astro, installed it, then clicked permanent root. It started rooting then it rebooted like it should. When the phone rebooted it was superrrrrrrrrrr slow. So i turn it off then on again. This time it was not slow but not rooted i went back to z4root and it was back at the root screen, temporary and permanet. I cliked on permanet and nothing happens. It starts to "downlaod" or whatever you wanna call it and all of a sudden just stops. Just exits and goes back to home screen.
Deleted it and went to try this one(this sites DIY)
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dro...-tutorial.html
I downloaded the file onto my pc, put it on my sd card, opened astro, and found the file. The diy says
but when i find the file in astro it just says the normal rename, delete, move etc..."Go ahead and open up Astro on your Droid2 (You could download this from the Android Market, just search "Astro". It is used to view the contents on your SD card, kind of like a file manager where you could view, edit, delete, add or move all your files on your card). Once its open, navigate to the z4root file you added earlier. Click on it and select Open App Manager, and click Install. You should now have the z4root App installed!
Im confused because i did everything the DIY said. The first method i tried came the closets. It actually rooted and rebooted but then i turned the phone off from it running slow and it was not rooted. Ever since that time when i do the steps over z4root will start to root and will just close and go back to the home screen?![]()
