Since rsd is recognizing your phone.. What happens when you tell it to run?
Your computer should read it as a flash device and not as a Droid x because of how the phone is booted up in...

Come to think of it, I did have this same problem one time. It was a while back, so I just finally remembered. For me it was a bad cable and I couldn't get it to work for me until I got a new one. Have you got another cable you could try?

It will say the flash has failed, and won't even try to go past the very first step.
