I guess I just bricked my Droid X

I JUST Rooted my Droid X(1) and Tried to start up a custom Rom( Not that I know what that does), I went on "download roms" and Downloaded one, then I hit restart and it is now stuck on the start up icon and never changes, I tried to take the battery out and back in but all it does is start up on the icon again. What can I do? Note: That I am new and it would be greatly appreciated if you guys could try to be really explanatory.

I am not able to walk you through right now since I am leaving for work in a couple minutes but what you are going to need to do is SBF your device. If you Google it there are a number of well written guides and also videos you can watch. It's also important to note that while you are stuck at the logo and doing the SBF process your phone is not charging so you need to be mindful of battery power.

I will gladly help you find things and walk you through it tonight but it will me much later, this is going to be a long day at work for me.

That's tough to do on a locked boot loader though. Getting into recovery can be troublesome from a powered off state although not impossible.

@ pengu, If while it is boot looping you pull the battery and then plug the phone in to a charger it *MIGHT* boot you into recovery where you can restore a back up if you have one. The most effective way for a Droid X is still to SBF.

Yeah, I stayed up till 2 o'clock last night trying to figure it out. From what I think, I'm SBF'ing it right now, but when I tried to do it, the start button won't show. Do I SBF with RSD Lite?

Yes you do SBF with RSD Lite. And did you get the file in the correct format and then select it in the drop down?

I'm pretty sure it's in the correct format, it says .sbf . Do I need it to be the same version as my droid?

No it can be any version as long as it is for the DX. And it does need to be a full SBF, there are some system only ones out there but you don't want that.

What is the full title of the one you are trying to use?

Yup that one should work. It is for froyo so you will need to take the OTA again.
