    Wifi tether for non root users!!!

    All right this is what I THINK may be a wifi tether for non rooted droids!

    I was using pda net tether to my pc and thought, why not give it a good ol' speed test down at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test! I had disconnected my wifi card from my pc and my droid was plugged in, hooked up to 3G and Wifi. As i ran the test I noticed it said my ISP was what my Wifi ISP was! I was also getting my wifi speeds through the phone! Then i thought is this 3G or wifi? So i went into the droid and turned off wifi, my ISP changed and my speeds dropped to 3G....

    That's not wifi tethering, that is using your droid as a USB wifi dongle.

    Wifi tethering is using the Droid's wifi with your computer's wifi to create an ad-hoc network, allowing your computer to use the phone's 3G data.
