Just rooted, now im a little confused...

I have a droid 2 global and i decided to root, mainly to overclock but also to see what else it has to offer. The other thing i want to do is install a custom rom. Now am i correct in saying that there is only 1 rom out there for the d2g and its called fission? if this is correct, where abouts can i get it, along with a how to install guide. My other question has to do with metamorph. Do i need to have a custom rom installed for this to work or will it work right after rooting? My last question has to do with backing things up. I know to click clockworkmod on rom manager, but what exactly does it do? does that mean if i mess something up, i can fix it if i clicked that before? or do i have to do other things to prevent messing up my pohone?

I don't know much about the d2, but I can answer your question about the backup. You always wanna create a backup whenever you change something on your phone (rom, kernels, themes, etc.) That way you can just restore the backup and your phone will be back to the way it was when you did the backup. As far as metamorph goes, I believe you need a custom rom to use it but not 100% sure on that. The dev that created metamorph is great, try sending him an email.
