rooting

hello!!! i currently have a droid 1. and was thinking about rooting it. how do i go about doing this??? first let me start off by saying i have no clue to what any of this technical mumbo jumbo means..so if there is anyone that lives in the downers grove illinois area that woulld be willing to help i will root the phone if you can come over and help walk me thru the steps of doing it...

Those 235 might not have known how. It's been forever since I rooted my D1, almost 2 years, but since it doesn't have GB you might be able to use z4root. Install the apk and let it do its thing. It was much more complicated when I did it the first time but I think it's been simplified. Good luck, I hope that works.

Edit: definitely use the link the above rck76 gave you and you should be fine.
