Permission Denied

Well, as the title suggest in not getting permission in adb to do dirty things to my droid. I have rooted the thing, however I dont see any pop up asking to give permission for root access. I have correctly directed ADB to the tools directory in my SDK folder. Windows Vista btw. Thanks guys

Are you getting permission denied when typing su into a terminal emulator on the phone itself too?

Do you have a "Superuser Permission" app in your app list?

at the $ type su. wait for approval pop up on phone click always allow and allow. hope this helps

Yes I do have the superuser app and no I have not used the terminal emu. I'm using the adb shell through my run.exe in windows. I'm simply trying to backup my phone with SirPsycho recovery from sholes. The one click solution for tethering over wifi looks juicy but this backup needs to be done. Apppreciate the suggestions so far

So what DO you see when you type 'su' ... does it actually say 'permission denied', and no popup on your phone? How do you know your phone is rooted, ie. what other things have you done on your phone where you DID see the popup on your phone asking for permission? Not questioning that you went to the process to root ... just whether it was successful.

Yeah I checked that thx. I have adfree on my phone which did in fact ask for root permission.
