Help me!! Droid 2 steel droid rom!

Ok so im a noob at this whole rom and rooting stuff and i thought i had it all figured out.. i was wrong:P so i downloaded rom manager and i got the bootstrap. i also downloaded the steel droid rom on my computer then put it on my sd. I installed the rom through the rom manager and installed the zip (steel droid). It said install successfully and booted the phone. Now the phone is stuck on the motorola logo. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME !!!!

Rule number one, NEVER let rom manager install stuff!

You may need to boot in recovery manually and clear data

With phone off, turn back on holding down "x" button. Keep it held down till you see a triangle with ! Inside. Then hit the search button left of the space and clear data/factory reset then reboot. That should fix it

im still holding the x and nothing seems to happen

Is your phone a Droid 2 or Global?

You need to use d2 bootstrap to get into clockwork recovery and install a rom on the d2 unless you're on a 2nd init rom like cm7. That's why it didn't work. Don't use rom manager. In the future, just do it manually.

You'll have to sbf now.
