Miui and contacts

    Miui and contacts

    Just installed miui and can't get my contacts. They are on my SD in a vcard file. It finds them and acts like it loads them but they don't show up. Also tried syncing them thru Gmail with no luck. Any suggestions?

    Do you have a back up you can revert to? I ask because there are a number of apps on the market that you can utilize to try and back them up. Sorry to say I can not recommend a specific one because I have not had to use any of them so far.

    Yeah I can but really don't wanna go thru all the work lol. May just start from scratch. Had a bunch of old numbers in there anyways

    Understandable. I have been fortunate that they have always synced properly when I flash anything.

    Do you have them backed up to your Google account?

    Yeah they are in my google account. But I can't get them to sync for some reason

    I honestly wish I had a good suggestion for you but I do not. MIUI does weird things sometimes. Great ROM but there always seems to be some strange occurrence when I use it. I know you can export your contact list to the SD, possibly try that for next time.

    Yeah I really like this ROM. Facebook syncs no prob lol. Are there any settings in google that I may need to change to make it work

    You can go into Settings > Accounts and sync to make sure that Sync Contacts is checked. Also, inside Settings > Privacy, you can check Back up my data. I am not sure precisely what the last one backs up but it cant hurt. Then when logging in the next time just double check that all boxes on the various screens are checked.

    in contacts I hit menu<show all contacts. They are all there lol. I feel stupid. Thanks for the help!
