help downloading google apps

This is a discussion on help downloading google apps within the Droid Hacks forums, part of the Droid Hacking category; I downloaded cyanogenmod off their website and installed it. Only problem is it didn't give me a Google apps option so I don't have them ...

    help downloading google apps

    I downloaded cyanogenmod off their website and installed it. Only problem is it didn't give me a Google apps option so I don't have them is there anyway I can get these apps. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    You have to download and install them seperately..Get Rom Manager..its in there..Just flash in recovery.....

    Search on google for "gapps.zip". Click the second link, which cyanogenmod forums. From there, the second to last post is your google apps. Those might be outdated, but you can update them through the market.

    Still didnt work ): its the rom manger it keeps saying must have version 4. W.e or higher can i download them without using rom manger somehow?

    Are you bootstrapped? If so, use CWM recovery and install them as a zip file. That should work for you.

    Just download version 4 from market.android.com.
    Search for "ROM Manager" and select Install.

    To be honest idk what being bootstrapped is i tried downloading it from the zip file and i cant find it

    Can you boot into recovery manually by holding down the power button and selecting reboot then recovery? If you can then as long as you place the GAPPS zip somewhere on your SD you can install it and you should be fine then.

    Yes indeed...You don't have to use rom manager it was only a place to dl them...lol Just flash like you did cm7..just do not wipe data..wipe cache and then go to install zip from sd..should be in dl folder...bigaddy bammmmmm! Its all good...
