Droid X Recovery Mode stuck at Exclamation Mark

I've found several guides to entering recovery mode and they all say the same thing. holding power and home till it turns on, release power, wait for exlamation mark and release home and then press search once.

I can get to the exclamation mark, but when I press the Search button, nothing happens. I then have to remove the battery to reboot it.

I'm stuck at the screen on the left:

hold power, volume down and camera at same time. It will put you in bootloader mode to sbf. (camera, volume down, then power)

Ya if you can get past recovery then you will need to SBF like he ^^^^^ said.

If you are on one of the 2.3.3 OTAs try hitting the two volume buttons when you are on that screen. It is what works for me.

I was in same place last night. I tried everything in recovery. finally I went to boot loader and flashed 602sbf and am back to normal. Hitting the 2 volume keys brings you into recovery mode. I am talking about bootloader. I tried it for a while in recovery with several roms and finally bit the bullet. I wasted alot of time. But I like to try all I can till I make it work.
