is there a stable 2.1 rom?

i looked at how to install 2.1 the easy way, but i'm getting crosseyed looking through 40+ pages. is there a stable rom out that lets me keep root?

if 2.1 official is released friday give it few days...will be solid as it gets compared to a cooked rom

The most stable one i know of, everything seems to work however GPS does not and Live Wallpapers are not included

Just wait for the official 2.1 man...and no, there's not any 100% stable 2.1 ROMs other than the official one that you should get within the next week. It'll remove root but they will develop a new root for the official 100% DROID optimized stable ROM.

yea i'm gonna keep 2.0.1, then download the 2.1 rooted when it comes, can't wait!!

go and read through this thread when you get time. and if you feel comfortable enough. do a nandroid back up and have at it. i am running this cyborg rom and only thing i have problems with are live wallpapers and sometime bluetooth. everything else is perfect for me.

its crazy how hard it seems to get a good stable rom going for the droid. on my G1, I had Cyan's Roms and they were pretty much flawless from the start. only updates that went out were mostly to add more cool stuff.

Not sure what those guys were doing, but in this case they are taking code from other hardware and adapting it ... and the "Other Hardware" does not have the same processor, a physical keyboard, the same video subsystem ... one would expect issues with that.

Once a real 2.1 is released for our hardware, I am sure the ROMs will be almost as, if not more, stable than the original.
