is there a stable 2.1 rom?

its crazy how hard it seems to get a good stable rom going for the droid. on my G1, I had Cyan's Roms and they were pretty much flawless from the start. only updates that went out were mostly to add more cool stuff.

Not sure what those guys were doing, but in this case they are taking code from other hardware and adapting it ... and the "Other Hardware" does not have the same processor, a physical keyboard, the same video subsystem ... one would expect issues with that.

Once a real 2.1 is released for our hardware, I am sure the ROMs will be almost as, if not more, stable than the original.

yea that's what i'm waiting on..i want the 2.1 that has all the goodies with it, i wanted to get the ones on here, but i want to see what the live wallpaper would be like, especially to see how long the battery would last

Other than live wallpapers (only some of them) I had good luck with Greek35T's ...

i'm tempted to try it, but i have to wipe all my data though don't i? or can i just load the nandroid backup and be done with it

I wiped mine ... always just seem to get better results that way. I've written scripts to reload my apps and settings anyway so it's not too bad ...
