About LinkBacksIf you root your phone can you take advantage of the unlimited data and provide internet for a computer? I know it can be done with the iphone when it is jailbreaked.

09-22-2011 09:26 PMI would love to but when I start wireless tether I connect and it goes to Verizon Internet page to purchase plan. Wireless hot spots is off wireless tehtermis on and it show yellow shield that i am connected. But nope version wireless page always comes up, so can't use Internet unless i buy plan. Is there a way around it. Or a new hack or mod I didn't download?

11-02-2011 04:16 PMVerizon does not allow tethering without a paid tethering plan on your account. If you do want to tether for free, visit the Droid 2 section and choose a custom rom (after rooting of course) and flash it. After flashing you should have the ability to enjoy free tethering.

Just about all rooted users have or do it. I don't recommended using it as your ISP ....that is why the wanna crack down on tethering is because of that.
