Flashed D2 won't work here... he says...

Please forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong forum!

I have a D2 and a D1 I had flashed to Metro PCS recently, the guy who flashed them said they worked great in his area, but for some reason they don't work in my area here in Texas. I was able to make calls on them when I was in Dallas so it does work, but he said something about Metro not having CDMA towers in my area. Only text works, no phone, no internet. So my question is, is there any possible way to get them working or do I have a brick? Would a D2 Global work here? Thanks!
