About LinkBacksMy phone is rooted, and I love the freedom with it. My son has a 1st gen Droid (not rooted). This morning, he told me that he just updated his phone. I've no idea if they've released the Gingerbread update for my phone, or not. I've been wondering what to do when that day finally comes. Can I update this rooted phone? Or, more specifically, if I can, are there other steps I need to do, beforehand?

09-05-2011 01:22 PMInstalled the update on my Droid 2. z4root, gingerbreak, and superoneclick all failed to root after the update. Ended up doing an SBF rollback. I liked the new interface but can't live without my root access, especially since the update re-installs all that worthless bloatware. I'll wait until a new exploit comes out before I consider the upgrade again.

09-05-2011 02:12 PMD3 one click (or the adb method for D3) works universally on all Moto GB or lower devices. I rooted GB via adb.
