Bricked phone recovered with boot loader
So I was working on building a new back to stock rom and all was going well till i bricked my phone. I know everyone is going to say i should have had sholes recovery on it but i was working on a hand way to get back to STOCK. well what happened is i i was formatting my data partition with adb but accidentally did "-w all" (wipe all) and then rebooted. i was able to get into recovery mode and boot loader just fine but the recovery partition was blank so any attempt at that failed. try and try as i did the phone would not go past the Motorola logo and i had no way of getting adb access. finally i called it a night and had gave up hope on fixing it on my own. I went into the Verizon store and told them that a app had been acting up so i did a hard reset and the battery died half way through
. she brought the phone in back and after 5ish minutes came back up and said she had no luck, told me that motorola says to hold "T" during boot to get into flash mode. she was about to set up an exchange and i asked about doing it with the phone in boot loader mode. after explaining what bootloader was and putting the phone in boot loader mode she tried again and said it WAS WORKING
.
well about half way through i asked what they were using to restore it and if there was any way to get a copy and she would not tell me, just to "google it". after she started helping a customer i was able to sort of sneak around the counter a little as i was talking to a different rep and saw they were using motorola rsd to recover it.
Just thought i would put this info out there for anyone that may need/be able to use it.
Any ideas on where to obtain the latest copy of motorola rsd and how to use it? would likely come in handy.

Holding T during boot does nothing for me.
I now have a Droid!

well if someone could figure out a way to flash it no matter what was wrong with it (flash with the bootloader) that would be awesome. if bricking was made impossible this way, i think a lot of people would feel better. (it'd be like dfu mode for iphone)

I found a copy of the software they used and am now trying to figure out how to use it

Yes, the software is RSDLite, and can be found by a simple google search. Now we need to find someone that has access to or has a copy of the complete droid image.

this sounds promising, i like where its going

i hope this gets figured out. then the droid would pretty much become un-brickable?
-
Motorola use RSD Net Connected, it is same as RSD Lite, only it can download the firmware as well AFAIK. Unfortunately, it requires the login, so no way here.
And about the brickability, CLIQ devs reported that as long as you can get into the "Motorola bootloader" it can be reflashed by RSD Lite. So yeah pretty much unbrickable.
So find this file and you get the cookies: "VZW_A855_ESD20_QSC6085BP_C_01.3B.01P_SW_UPDATE.sb f.gz"
