droid flipping out randomly selecting objects on screen with no user interaction

i just recently installed several roms and each one of them has had the same problem... it will randomly activate an object on screen with out my finger being anyware in the screen HELP

Usually that's caused by moisture on the screen (or even humidity if you live in AR :-( ) or using a power cable without the right volt / amp specs. If you find out it only happens when it's plugged in then it's the latter but otherwise cleaning the screen really well then restarting should help.

Yeah this has happend to me...it usually happens when I get moisture or food on my screen or something I just wipe it off and it works fine.

now its not randomly selecting things, but it is now not responcive in the column that the "home" button is on (in apps menu if its above the home is selects the object either to the right or left not the object directly in that column

Hi, I'm just wondering if you ever got this problem resolved?

I have started having the same issue. The first thing the guy at the Verizon store did was to blame it on overheating, being behind on updates, and poor choice of downloaded apps (antivirus, appkiller, etc.). I deleted the redundant apps, updated my OS, and it still happens - whether the phone is hot or not. I think the motherboard is fried, but am curious what you more knowlegable types have to say.
