I have two questions about this menu.

First off, if you click on 05 Data Rates, and then click data rates, you see that are phones are set to 153.6/9.6 . I know the first number is download rate, and second is upload rate. So if I set it to 153.6/153.6, will anything significant happen?

And second, if you click on 09 Data Call Setting, you can enable data call. What does this do? Will it make calls through 3g/wifi? Also, when you enter airplane mode, it is checked automatically.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

• Dial ##7764726 (##PROGRAM) and act as if you were going to call that number.
• Enter 000000 for the SPC Password and then tap Verify
• Tap on "04 Vocode"
• Tap on EVRC-B than Apply
• The phone should automatically reset a few seconds afterward. If not, power cycle the phone
• Explanation - This changes how the phone compresses and decompressed the call audio which improves the quality.

I'm not sure what data calling is but my phone has this option checked by default. Try to Google it.

The 153/9.6 should be considered more of a ratio of download to upload priority. Thus if you change your upload speed it offsets the bandwidth ratio and may cause your download speed to suffer. Most sources say to not touch this because it could cause less than desirable results.

No, i believe data calling being checked is what tells the phone that you are allowed usage of data. eg. browsing the web, downloads, etc..
