Here is the sequence I did.

adb shell
su
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/lcd-backlight/als


- Let the script run for about 10-15 seconds then Control C to stop it.

My phone has been running for about 6 hours with no lag so far.

I'll give it a try in about an hour when I get off work. I miss the ability to adjust my brightness. Thanks for the heads up and confirmation!

so can i run that on stock 2.0.1 or does it only work for sholes 1.0 rom, i have the custom kernel but not a custom rom, just wondering

I am not sure. The original post said it was for custom kernels so I think it would work.

Works on greek35t's 2.1 rom also

Sholes.info rom 1.1 is out and has the brightness fix included.
