I get permission denied in adb

I have a rooted phone and most of the commands i input in the adb shell come back with permission denied. I can push/pull of course just fine. IE, i was trying to get busybox installed and when I got to the ./busybox.zip command it came up with:

That is one of the times. And then also if i try typing SU, I get permission denied.
I am a noob at all of this and I am trying to learn on my own, I am just stuck at this.

i'm guessing you "rooted" your phone? adb won't work unless you root i believe.

Not true, you can use ADB without root.

Try repasting your commands... it's all garbled on my end.

i was getting the same thing a while back. make sure you're looking at your phone when you try and execute a root command. a dialog should pop up and inform you an application is requesting root privileges. i THINK if it sits idle it dies and adb tells you permission denied. if you just say yes then you should be good.

Well I am rooted. And yes I can get SU access in terminal emulator. Big Lou, That is the exact error I get when I try entering ./busybox.zip. I have allowed everything on my phone and still this error shows up.

Do a restore with your latest nandroid backup. That worked for me the other day when I randomly didn't have su access anymore.

Well now I do have su access and I still get the garbled up error message.
