Original Droid, can I sbf?

So a coworker of mine has an old Original Droid (A855) he's selling me, but he says it's stuck at the M boot... He also claims he DID NOT root it.... So would an sbf probably fix it? And are there sbfs for the original Droid?

There are sbf files for the Droid but without knowing what happened to the phone to stick it in a bootloop, I can't guarantee that it will fix it. It probably will though.

Ty, and what if the battery is 100% DEAD.... I know with the Droid X you can't sbf with a low or dead battery... same with OG Droid?

Yes for flashing or anything you should have at least 80%

And the Droid will NOT charge unless it can boot into Android? That's how it is with the X....

Okay is there any way around this? Any way I can get this thing to boot into Android, I don't even have the phone yet, but since it wasn't rooted, perhaps I can factory reset data/clear cache in Android Recovery?

Btw, the way Moto set this up is BS lol

Yeah I would try a data wipe. Also if the battery dies I think you can bring it to vzw and have them charge it.

You can purchase an external charger with or without a spare battery for a reasonable price if you shop around. I keep both in my computer bag for those times when I find myself with a dead phone.

Or if you have another friend with an OG Droid, borrow their charged battery long enuf to flash the SBF.
