    Unhappy fix the brick

ok, im a root rookie, i rooted my droid and have super user permissions, but i have been hesitant to load some roms until i knew more about it/them. guess i should have waited, because i tried loading one last night and i think i have a brick now.... anyone have suggestions/ help i would sure appreciate it.

i have ROM manager, and downloaded cyanogenMod from there. no problems with the download. it ended but would boot into recovery mode to load the new rom, so through rom manager i boot into recovery mod. it started then said couldn't find the file. i located the file in recovery mod and stated it. it errored twice forcing me to start over each time. it finally booted into the cyanogenMod boot screen. i let it do its thing, but it stayed on that screen all night. during the night it powered down and when i turned it back on this morning it did the same again then went blank. now when i he the power button i got nothing, not even the motorola boot logo. ??????????/

Well here's the guide i'm going to do it by memory though

Download the Droid sbf file and rsd lite

Install rsd lite on your computer

Connect your phone to USB and turn it off then turn it back on, while your phone is booting hold up on the DPAD.
Run RSD Lite 4.6 as Administrator

Click the ... next to the filename box and browse to your sbf file
Hit start and below it should give you completion progress and all of that.
Once your phone is done being flashed it will reboot and you will be back at stock no root should be all there really is to it let me know if you need any more help i'll keep checking back

    You can do that.

Or, sbf on RZRecovery, and load a ROM, as well as charge it if things go south.

ok, i installed RSDlite, downloaded the sbf file, followed your directions, and the droid seems to be stuck at bootloader.

    on the screen:

    bootloader
    2c.7c

    Battery OK
    ok to program
    transfer mode:
    usb

RSD lite laods the file fine but when i hit start, nothing to indicate it is working.

    suggestions?

the sbf file is in a download folder under my user account, the start button is lit so im not clear on what i am missing.

if needed i can move the file to the desk top? so it wont be in the root of the C drive?

When you click start it doesn't say anything in the status bar? On the bottom of the window...

Do you have motoconnect on your PC?
