Try clearing cache and data in the market app.
homescreen> menu key> settings> applications> all applications> market> clear data and cache.

Cleared the Data and no option to clear the Cache for Market. Went to the market and it tried to update Goggles,Gmail, and Google Maps. the download went fine but the install was unsuccessful.
Check your account settings. You may have to disable and re enable sync.

I tried that as well. I got frustrated and found a version FRG22 and uploaded it using RSD lite. Within 20 minutes of reactivating my phone I had FRG83G installed. It took over an hour to reload everything, but now I am back to stock and up to date. I guess I am just not techie enough to get the need to be rooted. Anyway, Thanks for all your efforts in trying to help me to this end.
