+1 ---> I'll do Droid_DOES two better.... ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS make a backup. Without a backup, you might be toast. Still, there were things you COULD have done if you would have done some more research before sending your phone back to Verizon. You likely could've SBF-ed back to stock and re-rooted and been fine. Too late now anyway.

have you read the links i posted *thoroughly*? they explain a LOT in very plain terms.

and what is your level of understanding of general programming? what about linux?

yeah i got it all done i think? the only concern i have is when i go to my rom manager...under more recoveries, the Flash Alternate Recovery is grey, and under neath it it says no alternate recovery available, but i know i saved a back up to my sd card.

Clockworkmod is the only recovery for the D2, SPRecovery isn't compatible
