Angry Rooting my original Motorols Droid 2.2.1 FRG83d

Good morning, I'm new to rooting so bear with me. I've tried to root my droid1 four time using z4root. Each time it says acquiring root but the it just stops and I'll have to take the battery out to reboot. I'm using the latest version of z4 and I have USB debugging on and airplane mode on. I more interested in the no computer methods. Not very computer savvy. What else can I try. HELP

Z4 will not work with the new build. Just root using rsd-light safe and easy. I will look for a link and post.

I had the same problem. I used "soup or root "and it couldn't have been easier. Just make sude you I stall thd Motorola drivers first. Thatz the only thing that kept tripping me up.

+1... soup or root worked for me first try (after installing motorola drivers) on FRG83D build.
