2.1 Launcher2.apk now for 2.0.1!! (2.1 app drawer and 5 screens)

UPDATE 04/06 Do NOT use the "Launcher2" discussed in this thread with ESE81 (Droid 2.1 OTA) update.

For a better than stock Launcher/Home, consider Helix Launcher or ClockWorkMod Launcher. Both available in the Android Market and seem to be 100% stable and work perfectly on the Droid 2.1 OTA update (ESE81).

The Home page transitions are amazingly fast from screen to screen, and the push buttons to go from screen to screen works great.

Have added about half of my original shortcuts and widgets and so far 100% stable.

Insdtalled, then rebooted, works nice!

It will setup default icons again on your screens, and you will have to remove then replace the widgets, but awesome!

I can swipe screens as well.

no landscape capability just yet.

Also as a bonus I just noticed there is an extra Wallpaper link (Menu>Wallpaper) and it has the 2.1 stock wallpapers!!

Kewl, will have to check that out. Also, landscape does work, but for myself I have to keep selecting to use launcher every now and then, haven't set to default.

A question, if I did set it to default and then remove, would it go back to the original launcher? I plan on removing it and gallery before upgrading to 2.1 itself.

I also think that any lag at this point is because it is 2.0.1, not the full 2.1...

I just tested this for you, it puts everything back as you had it. So when I installed it, it had the basic apps back on the first homescreen and gave me five screens to play with as the home screen swipes to the left and right. I then uninstalled it from my phone using Astro and my homescreen went back to just as I had it, with my SNES emulator and all that jazz on my homescreen, and I am back to just three screens. No harm done. Very cool though.

I've installed it, and while I can attest to it being stable and speedy, I didn't find it very useful. 2.1's best app, IMO, is the Gallery.

Yes, dowload the zip, extract the app and install with Astro etc.

When you uninstall an app that you have set defaults on those defaults disappear. No worries.

Try using the "dots" on the bottom (left and right) to navigate between screens, it is super fast and snappy!

Can someone post the zip file or apk file I'm at work and when I download this file its a .php file. I could just wait till I get home but let's face I'm not that patient!
