Well cyanogenmod is has a ton more features and you should have root after. What recovery are you using? Do you know how to SBF?

Best thing to do is follow the link that bayouflyfisher gave you and the same link I informed you about.
That is the only way to root a Droid 1. Installing GPA12 shouldn't have made you lose root.

is there a way i can go back to 2.2, and start all over again?
@winner00 no i dont know what im using. i kinda rushed into this obviously.
What I would do is SBF and restart. This will wipe your phone to stock 2.2.1 with no root. Just like you pulled it out of the box. I just did this after being rooted since the droid was rooted. I used SuperOneClick to root mine and it worked fine. But before you do that try flashing RZRecovery and using the root option in that recovery. Its supposed to root any rom. Heres the sbf link: http://www.rzroms.com/droid/recovery...overy_only.sbf Here is RSDlite to flash the sbf: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!
You can flash the RZR update.zip if you already have a working recovery. You shouldn't need to SBF unless the phone is unusable.

oh no, the phones working perfect, im just unable to root again. thats the only problem im having with it. thanks for the help everyone. im gonna try this and see how it goes.
wait, i feel really stupid for just now remembering. but when i installed the GPA12 i had to restore my phone... -_- and i tried rooting it just like before but it wont work.
ok so thank you everyone for the help. i have used the sbf and restored my phone. but... its brought me back to 2.0 and does not update OTA, is says "my system is up to date" and i cant update via update.zip because it keeps saying installation aborted. i cant find anyone that actually came up with a way to fix this. i could really use help if anyone knows what i should do.
