Cant root

This is a discussion on Cant root within the Droid Hacks forums, part of the Droid Hacking category; Ive restored the recent 2.1 rom (2.1-BCDMRS-20091231-0232) and i cant seem to root it..i go into recovery rom and tried the update.zip..says its rooted yet ...

    Cant root

    Ive restored the recent 2.1 rom (2.1-BCDMRS-20091231-0232) and i cant seem to root it..i go into recovery rom and tried the update.zip..says its rooted yet i go to a terminal on my phone and it says denied..I try to push it via adb shell but says it dosnt exist. When i do LS from adb shell into /system/bin i can see the su file there so it is there. Also when using the Droid roote helper app nothing works cant reboot or anything because i dont have root access can anyone help me get root access back would be much apreciated
