EVERY time I install a new ROM...phone constantly freezes

EVERY time I move to a new ROM...my phone constantly freezes...

Once the ROM is installed...and I'm logged in with Google...the phone continues to freeze before I can restore my apps.

What gives? Currently Running Sapphire 1.1.1 I've tried Sapphire 2.02 and Project Elite 4.2 BOTH with the same issues. I've had to move back to 1.1.1 each time.

I've done complete wipes each time....

Any ideas?

try skipping google login? I've had it happen a few times yanked the battery then it worked fine.... sapphire gave me the most issues w that so I moved on

What is your full process when flashing a custom rom?

For Sapphire 2.02, I first wiped data and cache...then flashed the ROM, google apps, kernel then theme...with Project elite, I followed the wipe instructions from the moded logic web site...


Seems the phone is running hot...the temperature hasn't been consistent either...sometimes hot..sometimes just right. Could the battery be the problem? Or is my Droid slowing fading away....

== should also point out that when I go back to sapphire 1.1.1 things seem to run fine, until the device runs hot again

Try a different kernel and see if its just a ROM/kernel/phone combination

You should only install the rom and Gapps together. Everything else you should do a reboot before installing. Especially the theme. You need to let your apps sync before you install the theme.

no matter what combination I do i end up with a phone that freezes within 30 seconds of booting and no ability to reboot in recovery.

Does anyone now how to fix this issue?
