The most important step in all that, well in your case at least is step 3 in the second main set of steps mv /system/recovery-from-boot.p /system/recovery-from-boot.p.old

FRG01B OTA enables a feature to undo custom recovery partitions <-- here is a more indepth look and discussion about what that file does and how to get rid of it.

The update.zip that is part of the Root Droid 1 - regardless of OS version , has a script that does exactly that. He actually talks a bit about the problem, in the introduction of the guide.
*snip*Before we get into the "how-to" we need to briefly cover something I call the Flash Recovery Service (FRS)....*snip*
I am glad you found your problem and were able to solve it though. I just thought I would share a little more insight into the what and why actually fixed it. Also so maybe the next person that sees this and has this problem, now knows how to fix it.

    Exactly!

Thanks alot for the additional info! I Have been learning and crash coursing for the late two weeks on hacks and mods. Actually i am trying to learn some things that most people can't do yet. Like making SBF's from the actual phones!

BUT, yes....that is exactly why i posted it over here as well. Gotta help everyone figure out how to fix there issues!!

    SO MUCH INFORMATION!! ROFL

You are very welcome and thank you.

And just to set the record straight. That command and info pre-dates MC1's "FRS" by months. The guide linked by the OP is the one that we all used at the very beginning of flashing a custom recovery to our A855 phone.

Is the file that we are backing up....is that just an image file renamed? is that what that is? or is it a script that points to another location?

You know I have never actually looked at that file itself. I assume that it is a script that checks the recovery system and if it is not stock, it then restores it to stock. How? I'll have to look into the file myself and see if it's pointing somewhere else or what.
