New Rooter, what's a good Kernal?

Finally rooted my D1 (thanks for the tutorial MotoCache1!) after many months of worrying I might mess things up and now I'm ready to speed things up. Any super users out there have a recommendation, preference or bias on a kernel I should start with?

    Rooted 2.2.1 no ROM (yet)

Just a kernel? Chevy & Slayher have always been personal favorites. Make a backup - try them all. See what works best for you & your phone.

Huskers in da house!! welcome to the forum!

every kernel will run differently on each phone, and with each rom. it's mainly a trial and error process, to find the one that works the best with your phone, and the particular rom you've chosen. a lot of roms now come with a 1000 or 1100 kernel, "stock", so that's always a good place to start. other than that, try out SlaYHer, Chevy, p3droid, jdlfg, etc...

Been searching for ROM's and my head gets fuzzy looking at all the choices. What's a fellow Husker fan recommend?

By the way, HuskerStorms wallpaper is sweet. Thanks for sharing.

Go with any of them. To get your feet wet safely, flash an 800mhz - 1000mhz. If you choose ChevyNo1, dont try the ultra low volts first. Just to be safe. Once you get the hang of it, try others. Be prepared for boot loops. If a kernel make you boot loop, go up in voltage or down in frequency. Also load a few different kerenls on the sd. If one gives you a boot loop, flash another one. Save from flashing backup.

But the easiest way I've found is to check out the link in my sig.

    Good luck.
