Gallery from 2.1 image working on 2.0.1

I posted a modded Gallery.apk from 2.1 on my twitter account, it works on 2.0.1

Twitter / Andrew Akker: Gallery.apk from 2.1 Flan ...

Extract the .apk (don't just rename it)

use:

adb install /path/to/gallery.apk

To remove the old gallery, (busybox required):

$ su
# mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
# /path/to/busybox mv /system/app/Gallery.apk /system/app/Gallery.bak
# sync
# exit
$ exit

awesome! I upgraded into 2.1 just so I can have a better gallery...at the expense of my LED notifications.

considering going back and installing this instead.

What LED notifications are you talkiing about? Mine are working fine I believe. Well for Messages/Email

What LED notifications are you talkiing about? Mine are working fine I believe. Well for Messages/Email

SMS and email on 2.1 are not working correctly. Also +1 on the comment about keyboard lights...although 5 screens is pretty awesome and of course new gallery - geesh, options, options...

Oh I've tried all the home replacements - 2.1 is by far more stable than Home++, PandaHome, GDE, Launcher+, you name it. Having a native app that gives extra screens and not an add-on that doesn't play nice is IMHO a better alternative.

So, I'll live without led notifications for now.
