About LinkBacksi downloaded z4 from some website and i pressed permanent root and it kept going for hours and hours.Eventually, it just stopped. I tried another website and it says the "running exploit" thing and the "aquiring root shell" and then goes back to the home screen all within 30 seconds. Please help, and im sorry for being such a nube :/

01-17-2011 02:04 PMAre you on the most recent 2.2.1 update? If so z4root won't work and you should look for the thread about root droid regardless of OS version.

01-17-2011 02:32 PMI just rooted my DX using z4root v1.3.0 by downloading the .apk to my computer and then copying it to the download directory on my DX and running it. My DX is running the latest .340 update and it went perfectly!
