I just wanted to put a post out for all of those people who keep asking about a forum section for custom boot animations. I am currently in the process of building a site with the primary purpose of hosting boot animations. I have been collecting animations as they are made available on the forums and I am slowly sending PMs to make sure I have permission from the creators.

I hope to have the site ready for public consumption by the end of the week assuming I can come up with enough time to get a decent graphical layout built. Please feel free to PM me with links to any of your favorite animations. I will anounce the domain in this thread when I feel the site is ready for you guys.

I recommend you go ahead and link to the work-in-progress site (even if it's not at the final url). When the final site is live, just redirect to it.

That'll keep us happy in the meantime.:)

I'm looking forward to this. I just did the custom boot animation.

Now I can get updates on the progress :)

I already have the domain I want registered and I have plenty of room on my current hosting plan along with pretty good bandwidth allowances (will have to wait and see if you guys download too much ;) ). It's really just a matter of not having decided for sure which platform I want to base the site on, right now it's Joomla, but I am testing different download modules and themes to see what fits best.

I will get you guys the URL soon enough, but you're gonna have to be patient until I finish some of my testing and make some finalized decisions.

I'm pretty close to being where I want to release the site for now. I'm not sure my current choices have all of the forward looking features I want, but I will sort that out later. Tonight I hope to finish getting all of the boot animations I have uploaded and then I will release the site URL and an email address for submitting boot animations in the next day or two.

Also it would not be bad to post a small tutorial on how to change it.

A small set of tutorials is in the works, but I probably won't finish them before I open the site. I have also been talking with someone who is building a boot animation changer app for the Droid which will be offered for download from my site once it is complete.
