Rooting Droid 1 with 2.2 FRG83D?

Been looking for a good tutorial for rooting my droid with 2.2 FRG83D installed but cannot find anything concrete, only stuff for 2.2 frg22d. I guess I'm wondering if anyone know of a tutorial for my flavor of the OS or does it really matter?

has worked for me 3 or 4 times since the update. It takes a couple of times for it to take at least for me but it took my buddies phone 3 tries, but it works fo sho. v1.8 is the only one that I have tried though. but it's quick and easy.

Soup or Root is garbage. superoneclick is MUCH better, or you can use link 2 in my signature.

Please enlighten me on why it is garbage because i haven't had an issue "yet". just wondering. i looked at the superoneclick but since i only have experience with soup that is what i stuck with. what is the diff?

I've seen more incomplete roots, apps that can't be removed even with Chuck Norris's help, and other problems requiring full wipes to fix with SOR than any other rooting method. The only one I've seen more problems with was Easy Root until we figured out that it wasn't installing busybox and got that one worked out.

And, frankly, if you're already hooking your phone up to your computer, why not use Motocache1's method and get custom recovery AND get the recovery replacement system turned off all at once? It's just as, if not faster, than any other rooting method to boot.
