recursive copy from / on rooted device

OK, I'm feeling very stupid here.

I want to copy EVERYTHING from my rooted Droid1 to my Win PC. Not just the contents of /sdcard, but everything from / on down.

I thought this would be easy with Android Manager but it doesn't seem to be able to copy folders, just files.

So what's the best/easiest way to do this?

Install adb and try this from your pc: adb shell cp -R / (wherever you want to copy it to) or open up a terminal and your Droid and use cp -R / (where you want it saved)

unfortunately, I need to copy to my Windows box and the kernel I'm running doesn't seem to support mounting CIFS shares.

I tried both the 'LAN' and FTP connections from EStrong's file explorer but had no success with either.
