[Rom 2.1 Rev. 0.0.3 is here with New 2.6.29 Kernal

    GREEK35T Android 2.1 [ROM] as of 24DEC2009 0001 Hours

All of these bug fixes have been tested live prior to release-

    +Bug Fixes in Ver 0.0.3

-New 2.6.29 Kernal with tethering capability. You will have to install that software on your own. Our gratitude does out to it's development team. This also enabled better functionality with the backlight issue.

-Updated wifi drivers to go with the new Kernel. Thanks to the same team of devs.

-Programming Menu + dialer issues Fixed THANKS 2BIT!

-Keyboard Backlight - Working ok. Degraded functionality but useable. Sometimes must go into stanby and come out to start the power manager. After that works fairly consiatantly.

-GPS accuracy / glitches - I have not had any problems with GPS in this new version. Agps works initially and then it got a fix within 6 meters and it showed me right at my house. Hopefully it was just installation issues. And for clarification I did have both boxes checked in my settings

-magicdroidapp su - works well but some dont like it. It's been outed by new kernel for ADB shell. You just get a # now. may still be active if using terminals on the handset.

-Some Market Apps not available - Fix was in build.prop. To verify this fix, look at phone info in settings. The firmware version should say 2.1 and the build number ERD72. We know though that this is not really the case.

    -Corperate Calander added back in

Is it any faster? 2.1 generally ran pretty sluggish on the phone, with a lot of room for GUI smoothness improvements.

    This new release is slick.

Still having some quirks with the keyboard light. Any fix. GPS works great for me. Really no lag that I see (as compared to 2.01).

Now have to investigate tethering and such.

What shell is used by default in this kernel?

Can't change brightness manually .. auto brightness only changes by about one or two notches.

I have read through the post at AllDroid and here, does this allow for out-of-the-box installation of android-wifi-tether? (Avoiding the many steps in the beginning of the other topic's tutorial? -- kernel build, etc.)

    USB Host?

I am curious if the usb chip on droid can be set to be in host mode and if these ROMs support that and include drivers for a USB mass storage device?
