Im a complete noob to hacking a ps3 and I was unable to find a tutorial anywhere. How do I go about using an .img file to hack my PS3? I know its for PSfreedom but their site says that it only supports 3.41. Can somebody please tell me how this all works, Im soooo confusedAfter a couple test runs Klutsh releases psfServiceMod. Enter Factory/Service mode with this recovery image and downgrade. Most importantly — keep the same recovery mod installed to later jailbreak your downgraded PS3. All features from psfMod are included in psfServiceMod — it’s the new name.

12-11-2010 12:47 AMIt only supports 3.41 and you have to be rooted. If you have that I can explain more

12-12-2010 10:57 AMYes you can, google it. Its definitely possible unless you updated to 3.55. 3.55 was released specifically to block the ability to downgrade. You pretty much have to buy a toggle tho and apparently the x3max can jailbreak 3.50. Im gonna give it a shot. Originally Posted by joeybarclay

last time I searched this it wasn't possible but apparentness now it is. You would have to reflash the ps3 if im not mistaken and just a heads up if something says that it can jailbreak the new firmware and nothing else can its probably a scam. Sony didn't block specific types of jailbreaks they blocked the way the ps3 interacts with other devices so that they could not modify the system. Originally Posted by droidaddict101
