    thinking about rooting fascinate

    i just downloaded the z4root app to my computer. now what do i need to do? is there anything else i need to download? i am thinking of overclocking, what am i going to need for that?

    The z4root app needs to be run on your phone, so transfer it to your sdcard, install it and then run it.

    THIS IS WHAT ROOT MEANS (stop asking)

    What you need to know about rooting:

    Samsung Fascinate Forum - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

    I am not totally familiar with the fascinate, but I do know that you should be good to go. From my experience with the Droid 1, there isn't much you can backup while you are not rooted. I suggest you do a bit of reading as well until you get more familiar with what exactly you are doing and can do to your phone before you proceed.
