    Can anyone say what I can try? I see the flash_image, so why can't it find the file?

    Anybody out there?
    Apparently you didn't actually follow the instructions on the first post... there is a command string that moves the flash_image to xbin folder
    So far, I have run the following commands:
    • Make sure you're in root mode: `su`
    • Put your /system partition into read/write mode: `mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system`
    • Back up the old driver: `cat /system/lib/modules/tiwlan_drv.ko > /sdcard/tiwlan_drv.ko.old`
    • Copy the new driver to the system: `cat /sdcard/tiwlan_drv.ko > /system/lib/modules/tiwlan_drv.ko`
    • Sync the /system mount, and remount as read only: `sync && mount -o remount,r -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system`
    When I try to run `/system/xbin/flash_image boot /sdcard/boot-new.img`, I am getting the file doesn't exist message. Where is the command to move the flash_image?

    EDIT- Just saw that you added the command line, which I am pretty sure I did run. I'll start from the beginning and see if I just missed it the first time. Thanks for replying!

    I just realized that I need adb to make this work (getting the permission denied message when trying to update the new kernel). Since I don't have any experience with adb, I'm guessing I can't do this.

    adb isn't hard to use. I didn't know what it was until we had rooted droids.

    Can't seem to have my laptop connect either. Seems like its running ok on the droid through :/

    EDIT: Simple reboot fixed it.

    Works well, thanks OP!

    I figured out most of my stupid issues, but still couldn't see the network the droid should have been broadcasting. I grabbed my fiance's MAC, and could see, connect, and browse with pretty good speeds. The problem resides in my Fedora so I'll have to dig around and try to figure it out.
