Change default player in dock mode

I don't know if this would require a hack or possibly an override in the app but for those of us who like to listen to audio books it will be important for us to be able to change the default music player in dock mode.

I'm currently using Meridian and I see no way to do this.

Will this be something an app developer can override or would it require a hack of some sort?

Meridian as default works everywhere except when in dock mode.

Hmm that's interesting...Normally it should ask you what player to launch (well usually that's what it does). Do you have Meridian set as your default player? Try clearing the Stock player as your default player.

Meridian is set to default player but does not override the droid default player in dock mode.

I see no way to "clear" the droid default player.

When in dock mode clicking on the picture viewer will ask whether to make Astro or View Picture as default but this action does not occur for the music player.

    To clear defaults try this:
    Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> "Menu Button": Filter: All> Music> Clear Defaults

Then put your phone on the dock and launch the music player see if it asks which app to open it up in. Select Meridian and Check the default box.

Clear Defaults is grayed out. Cleared data and forced stop but Clear Defaults still grayed out.
Still not asking from dock. Photo viewer did but not music player.

Any other ideas. This is kind of a bummer. One of the main reasons I got the dock.

Could it be a hook the author of meridian failed to associate? Anyone else tried this with Meridian or other players?

Thanks, hopefully we'll figure this out.

Hmmm...Sorry it didn't help. Unfortunately I don't know anything else that you could do without modifying some system files with root. Good luck, please share if you find anything.

What about tapping the Home Icon that's in the upper-left corner of the screen? That should take you back to the non-dock home screen. Then simply select Meridian from your home screen (assuming you have a shortcut to it). Once you've got Meridian running, just press the phone's Home button and you'll be taken back to the Dock's home-screen. Meridian should continue running in the background...

That sounds like a viable work-around, better than nothing!
