Thanks.
What is the tag or branch for 2.2.1? I assume froyo is 2.2?
Tag was still froyo.

The instruction given in your masterpiece is for the platform. The kernel is a different animal, am I right? I need to put the big picture together first.
Thanks.
Yes, kernels are a whole different way to use up a whole weekend

I got this error when trying to pull one of the manifests under froyo. The command I used was:
repo init -u git://android.kernel.org/platform/manifest.git -b froyo -m froyo-20101201.xml
fatal: read error: Connection reset by peer
error: Cannot fetch platform/external/elfcopy
Do you know what I did wrong?
Thanks.
Everything after -b froyo shouldn't be there.

Someday I will understand exactly what y'all are doing, but for now I am happy with my root, taking out bloatware, and that's pretty much it...but go you genius types woot!![]()
I had done this a couple days ago. My question is, what do you do from here? How do you edit a ROM and then make it into a .zip file? Thanks.
Ill update this again, because apparently i messed up in my gingerbread instructions.
