Google messed up some things on 2.2...

Not saying its bad or anything great update,but ive been on 2.0.1 since launch and just now updated to 2.2,i noticed 3 bad changes and not sure if you can change them back to how it was.

No REAL Silent Option



The lowest it goes is vibrate,and silent also goes to vibrate,even if you hold the power button it shows silent but still
only goes as low as vibrate.But i read that there is a market app that puts a widget on home screen and every time you click it the phone goes silent.

Text Message Screen



Can you see which are unread and read texts? It's pretty hard to distinguish since the white and "grey" look exactly the same,looked under settings for an option to change color but there isn't one.I know you can use another messaging app (Handcent) but why should I?It should at least ask me if i want white or black theme.

Horizontal Home Screen Space



That's a waste of space that widgets could use,not sure if there's a way to change it but i haven't found it.

I haven't found any other negative changes (yet) ,but don't get me wrong,some people might even like these new changes but i don't and would like it to go back to the way it was.

You're using the stock launcher? Use ADW or launcherpro

my gosh does that silent thing bug me. ill have to look into that app, its the only way to stop the droid from going off in class

And using a messaging replacement like Handcent will solve your second gripe.

You can fix the silent option by going into sound settings but it will only go to silent. Which i find very annoying because you have to choose which you want set to the volume rocker, silent or vibrate.

something i would also like to add:
this doesnt really fit here, but before froyo was released, google was saying there would be over the air cloud music streaming from you computer to your device.
This was announced in may i believe. However now froyo is here and there is no music streaming from your pc .

I guess this isnt what google messed up on, rather its what google didn't deliver on.
