Application dock question

I was wondering if there was a way to hide, or remove some of the icons from the pull-up application dock. I can see it getting cluttered real fast.

Not without rooting your phone. That's what the 3 home screens are for though. Add shortcuts to your most commonly used items to the home screens. You should rarely have to go to the full app list.
