Myself and others have reported that doing a Voice search (even in car home mode) and saying "call Joe Doe Mobile" will always do a google web search and never go into phone mode. saying "dial 555-1212" does the same thing. Voice search always goes straight to the web search. Some users have no problem, others like myself do.
any ideas?
Thanks.
Well, truth be told, I don't sure the Voice Search but if you press and hold the Search key from the Home Screen and say "Call John", for example, I get a list of people named John. That doesn't work for you?
Negative. It goes to the internet and does an auto google search for the keywords "call John".
Thanks again for your time!
So I was playing around and found this out:
Pull up the Applications Tab>>>Go to Settings>>>Go to Search>>>Go to Searchable Items and see if Contacts is checked
Hope this helps!!

Yes, thanks for joining. I was worried about making GDE, Home++ Beta, Panda or other Homes my default because if that was causing a problem, how would I be able to change to the stock home. Seeing that there is a "Safe Mode" is good to know.

I've been looking for an awnser, and hoping for an update... The droid regular email, not gmail, won't open attachments originated on an Exchange Server system. I get .pdf files from a customer that uses an Exchange server, and I can open the picture they use as a company logo in all thier emails, but not any of the attachments. I get a 'fetching attachment' message, then a message that say's 'The attachment cannot be displayed' .....
I thought I had this fixed once, but the problem never really left. If I take the same attachment from my home email, foward it to myself on the droid email I can read it. But Not from the exchange server email system...
What's up with this?
Thanks in advance for trying....

Viperboy, I just saw your reply, so thanks... Yes I can, and do view the attachments on a computer. I get them on my Droid, the computer in the service truck, and my home computer all at once. The only place I'm having trouble is the Droid. It seems to be pretty common with others I have talked to, that they can't open exchange server based attachments.
Sucks HUGE...
IF you can't help, do you know where I can start to look for help?

Where does the Droid store a MMS delivered ringtone?
It is not stored on the SDcard, I pulled the card and ringtone is still there.
It is not in the "system\media\audio\ringtones" folder with the native ringtones either.
I figure someone will know the answer here on the forums. I have found all my many other answers with a quick search. If I can't find them there is no way to manage or delete them. I have Astro file manager and know how to use it. So where are they?
Thanks in advance.
Jon
look under downloads. also download an app called astro...saves ya from pulling the card out or having to connect to a pc to access it! hope this helps.
I've tried, believe me. Thanks. I feel like i'm playing a game....let's stump the tech.

Viperboy, a friend is interested in switching to a VZ Droid. Do you know if he can transport his phone number from T-Mobile to VZW? Thanks.

The answer to that question is Yes. He just needs to sign up with VZW and tell them he want to port his number. They will do the rest for him

Did you disable "haptic feedback" in the settings?

He can Port (transfer) his number over from TMobile to VZW with no problem, just don't cancel the TMobile account until you activate the VZW DROID.
Seems Miami replied faster then I did
