    Best texting app for an avid college student texter? :D

    I text. a lot. Try up to 4,000 messages at least a month, and more once I go back to school (thank god for unlimited messaging!). I've noticed some problem with the normal messaging app that bother me, such as it's now clicking on the wrong name.... that's caused some very awkward moments, haha.

    I'm looking for a Messaging app that is/can:

    1. very streamlined
    2. FAST
    3. easy to use (I like fiddling with things however!)
    4. Customizable LED light color (if possible, this would be awesome!)
    5. If at all possible, somewhat similar to the normal Messaging app?

    I run on a Motorola Droid 1 with Froyo (from OTA) update.

    You guys have helped me before, I hope you can again!

    I think I could get that high if I didn't have classes :P

    Is Handcent really that nice? I've been looking into it, I'm just very wary of switching... and for some reason, I'm going to miss that message bubble smile popping up when i get a message, lol

    I recently purchased the Droid X....loving the phone!! Is there any way to keep the screen lit while using Pandora or the Navigation or anything else that I would like to keep the screen lit instead of it going black???

    Haha well then that isn't so good! If I knew my teachers wouldn't throw paint or anything at my phone, then I probably would too x)

    Since it seems that Handcent is the clear favorite, I downloaded it, and I'm enjoying it so far
