Verizon Wireless is offering me to upgrade to the Droid 2 or Droid X for the discounted price.

$299 before $100 mail in rebate.

Do you think it's a fair deal so should I demand for an even exchange?

If you really have had 6 replacements, then yes, I would say they should upgrade you for free.

You have 2 choices...another certified replacement phone which may or may not work for you. The other choice is a BRAND NEW IN BOX Droid 2 or X. You're still on your current contract outside of your 30 days. So, either you take a chance on the CLNR, or you take the new in box, change your New Every 2 on the line and get the phone at the discounted price. There's no negotiations with VZW over this. You're still abiding by your contract when you got the original Droid. VZW is offering you to upgrade now because of the problems you are having.

I am not just blowing smoke, this comes from my prior background with VZW as an employee. This is what they're offering. Take it or continue to get replacements and stay with your current contract.

Also I'd love to get the Droid X but it won't be shipped out til 9/7, but if I were to get the Droid 2, I do have a 30 day return policy, right? And if so, could I return it into a corperate store and exchange it?

You will have to ask the person you speak to about doing the early upgrade. More than likely you will have to do the mail in rebate however. Yes, you would have the 30 day exchange policy after you get the DX.

Im impressed 6 replacements. Lol, thats more phones than i have ever had let alone replacement phones. And the droid has only been out since november.... lol you get a new one every month?
