I heading out to pick up the new Droid 2 extended battery.
I was searching around the forums but cant seem to find the answer.
What is the traditionally correct way to cycle a brand new battery???

Have no idea. Perhaps someone at the retailer can provide you with some direction. If not, try the manufactures web site to see what they may advise.

I cant link but i believe your suppose to Charge the battery for at least 8 hours (even if it says its charged) and once a month run it dead so it'l reset or something. This is just me with my crappy memory, feel free to google it a tad though.![]()

I got my D2 battery yesterday and charged it for about 5 hours. Put it in my D1 (rooted/overclocked) and by my calculations was going to last about 22 hours by the time I went to bed and put on charge.
Today after charging all night, I've had it the Droid turned on for 6 hours now and calculations indicate it is going to last 32 hours and I've been using it a lot!! I am thrilled so far.

Lithium batteries today do not need conditioning. Charge it full once, then charge it as you feel like. There is no memory in them like the old Ni-Cad batteries.
