insurance and warranty questions

i have a couple quick questions about insurance
1)does anyone know of insurance for the droid better than vzw's?
2)does the droid have some type of maufacturer's warranty?
3)are droids that are replaced by vzw's insurance new or refurbished?

cannot answer items 1 or 2.

but i recently had a claim on my storm 1 through vzw insurance, the first unit they sent was a refurb (and i had requested a new one). called to say the replacement was not working correctly so they sent out a brand new one. customer service stated they never send out a new one the first time out. the claims process went very smoothly.
